Back in maybe 2002, Kitbuilders Magazine sponsored a limited edition reissue of the old Lindberg Loonies "Satan's Crate" model. I bought one then, fiddled with it a bit, then put it away. And a couple months ago I found it during a hobby room tidying and got it out again. And now it's finished.
Satan's body was covered with molded-on hair texture that I didn't care for, so back in the day I had sanded all of it off. I also added a scoop to make the engine more interesting, and because I didn't want to paint the kit's one-piece spoked wheels, I stole the drag racing wheels and tires from the Slingster.
And here are pics!
I especially like the headlights, which are far nicer than you'd expect on this sort of cheapie kit:
All the Loonies were reissued by Hawk (I think) a couple years ago, and are easy to find on eBay. They were: Satan's Crate, the Big Wheeler, Road Hog, and the Scuttle Bucket. Now that the Crate is finished, I've built them all
