Ohhhh dude, this is AWESOME! I've never seen this kit before - too cool! I love the mural on the back! Looks really nicely built too. Total 70s throwback build!
How old was the kit you used to build it? Does it have an engine and stuff?

How old was the kit you used to build it? Does it have an engine and stuff? Oops, I forgot to answer your questions Kab, Im sorry..... Thank you for the kind words Kabdriver, and also to you Showcarnut. Well, the kit was issued in 1977 and never reissued. It has always been one of the most popular "golden era" Monogram models, and always gaines high prices at Ebay. The kit comes with complete engine, front and rear suspension, and all. Of course the only way you can look at the engine, is from underneath the van. Its typical Monogram quality of the time, which I like very much. These Monogram models from that era, will allways be my favorite model kits. The only thing I wish they had done differently, is the side view mirrors. They are really a challenge to get to sit right. I know the ones on my Desert Rat, does not sit perfect, but it was the best I could do.

A very nicely done van you have there Bugaboo , I think a nice diorama of a beach scene or even an Arizona cactus or three would look awesome with that ! I have a similar Chevy with working " hydraulics " ( electric motors & swing arms...)I hid the controller wire under the display base which freaks people out when it starts 3 wheelin' & hopping ! Its in metallic purple at the moment , but I was thinking of doing it in white , with Cheech & Chong inside ( Please don't mention the jar & big bag of soap " Hey maaaaaan ? " Spen.... Bugger ! )

I managed to build the Revell '60 Corvette first, and it almost made me give up models. It was the '55 Chevy Street machine that cemented (pun intended) my love of car models.
