Without going into too much detail I'm showing an initial development of the "Stiletto". This is early phase so much of the details pertaining to the main canopy and how all that works is still being worked with my twin brother. Yes there are two of us with the same skills that can do this work! If you are wondering how is this all getting done, then you can see having a partner in crime helps! I'm gonna do a little digging Mike; I'll see if I can come up with more pics for you; if nothing more can be added ... I'm sure it will still be fine; because this means no one else will know what the cockpit area looked like either.Hmm, actually, I wonder if you were to contact Carl Casper, if he could shoot a pic or two of it; even though it probably was changed when the body was; it might give you something to go by ..best case ; perhaps he has pics of it before it was altered.

And of course, this is what Carl did with Dave Puhl's Illusion show car BEFORE & AFTER .... ( I sure wish he didn't ) .... it's OK; the paint is insane; but I much prefer the original. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

I did NOT know this!!I know it's hard to see that one & to know the Stiletto was turned into "The Cosmic Invader" right behind it, in the pic. As I said before, It would have been pretty easy to just make a mold & cast these two in fiberglass; to customize & leave the originals - same goes for Starbird & the Futurista - there; all he used off it was the rear quarters/fins ( which he used on the rear/side section of the "Star Trek Coupe ) & trashed the rest.To be fair though, I suppose at the time, this seemed to be the way to go; for whatever reason. The car appeared in 1966 Beverly Hillbillies episode 7.12 Can't send the link but some good interior shots. Same episode that Jethro gets the hot rod truck.

Now you are into something !!! Are going to do this kit only in 1/8 scale ? I really would like to have one in regular 1/25 1/24 scale !The first run of the bodies will be at the 1/24-1/25 for sure. Most of the demand will be at this scale is what I'm thinking. The challenge is to get these completed via whats most available. With the 1/24-25 scale there are more kits available to bash together to get it done.

Just wanted to share the what Kevin has done regarding the "Stiletto". The body has been refined in many subtle ways from the last version. Kevin will be putting the final touches on regarding how the front suspension parts attach and we are off to printing. We go through many refinements before we go to print. The process takes a while, but its well worth it for a final product. In the next couple days this will go to Shapeways and then we can expect a 7-10 day turn around to delivery.

The cockpit area looks as if it would have enough strength around the bubble to allow this to be operational as in your renderings, which would be a builders dream, however; I'm thinking it may not be the logical way to go, as far as ease of production. I would be tempted to either just vaccuform the surround & the bubble as one & leave it up to the builder to mask the bubble & center dividing spear for paint; or of course ....simply make the whole thing as one unit, with the bubble area ( which would be the resin/3D plastic ) molded on; but made thin enough to be carefully removed by the buyer & the provided bubble installed also; by them. There are several resin car bodies offered on the market, which do have this type of design;that the windshield/rear/sides are very thin & are removed by the modeler....which then allow installation of the clear plastic.
