It's been a while since I've posted anything here but the last month or so I've been restoring this old survivor of mine . I actually disassembled it a few years ago but never got any further .

It's restored and built completely box stock except for the tire lettering decals and the license plate , and I modified the front for poseable steering . The plastic has been polished and cleared .


This is what I started with . I decided not to use the decals . . . a little too much for my taste .

I've always thought it speaks volumes for Tom's design flair that such small tweaks to the original kits completely transformed them. Six great builds!

Funny thing is that I've had these for years and years but never had any real interest in building them , then a couple of years ago I restored the Blue Beetle and I was hooked .

Now that all six are finished I've got a few more 60's Monogram hot rods in my stash . . . more to come !!
