I don't know the exact problem with the mold but it was a issue with the common parts that all the kits share as it made none of the kits viable. Stevens looked into them.

Beautiful build of that kit- really well done! Too bad about the tooling. It would be wonderful to see these reissued. I have them all MIB, with duplicates of the Guberwagen and Meter Cheater.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. It was fun tracking them down, aligning the shots and POW! Bringing home the trophy kills! :-)
These were some of my faves as a kid and I really enjoyed the time spent building them again.

Awesome builds on all of them! What a great-looking set!
I don't know if many of you know this, but Dave Deal did the box art for the Moon Mixer. He didn't have anything to do with the model design itself though. The box art doesn't really look like his style to me, but he did verify that it's his. After buying one I did notice that his name is on the artwork too.

Those are just outstanding... awesome job! I had a Moon Mixer once, molded in red metallic, and it was so brittle it just snapped randomly. I wish they would have given just a little more thought to the wheels... those kits would be show stoppers with realistic rims...

Beautiful work Mr. Hessler, super clean build! Nice to see these somewhat obscure kits getting built. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future. Tory

The last few times I've bid on these kits, they usually went for $60 - 80. Yikes! Love the Moon Mixer, but I'd need to work more OT to get one of those! First thing to go would be those wheels (and maybe the tires) ... Revell got so many details right, then they used those crappy wheels on so many kits!!!

Yes, those crappy wheels were the standard for most of their kits back then. Go figure.
I hope Mr. Paeth didn't design them. ;D

It does this old heart good to see and read about these "oldies" and the desire to have Revell re-issue them. What seems to be the trouble with the molds ?

You won't find me bragging about the wheels and tires on the Corvair powered line of kits. These were all designed on a "shoe string" budget and the wheels and tires were a way to save money. BTW, has anyone realized that the mixer on the "moon mixer" is from the Revell kit of the Gemini space capsule ? What a way to save tooling costs !!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how many kits those wheels ended up in anyway.

Great job on an old kit! ! ! ! Now lets see more! ! ! GB Barten I think he's built them all now Dan.... Thanks again everyone, And Charlie's right - the Moon Mixer was the last of the five. I actually built them in the order in which I aquired them: 1. Meter Cheater 2. T-Bone Stake 3. Patent Pending 4. der Guber Wagen 5. Moon Mixer One other detail regarding the Moon Mixer pics - I gotta thank the Rallymaster for giving me the suggestion of adding the sand to simulate a "lunar" surface! I do think it adds a bit to the model's "theme"! Thanks, Dave!
