Lil Gasser

Here is the Lil Gasser. This kit was a real pain to build because the parts were either too long or holes in parts were too small. It's a nice design, but bad kit. Ihe truck is mostly built out of the box. I added details like, an instrument panel from Gofer Models, plug wires and rechromed parts. I had the scoop replated after I filled the 2 halves. The Valve covers were never plated as was the oil pan. I discovered after much research, the engine must be wired the same way as the Ohio George '33 Willys Coupe. That was the original car AMT used the 427 in. The same motor appeared in at least 6 kits that I know of.

Looks nice, good job! Does it come with standard chrome AND the gold chrome too?

Like your 1:1 truck too! My buddy had a nice pro-street one at one point - I've always liked that particular year or two of Chevys

No. Silver Chrome only. The Gold is Tamiya Clear Yellow. I hate 2 piece parts, especially when the seam is visible. I didn't fill the seams on the rear ends. I gets cost prohibitve.

Ahhh! I've used that yellow over chrome too - yours looks really great!!

I hate dealing with those seams on chrome parts too - model companies have got a LOT better at preventing them nowadays, but that doesnt help on a lot of these old kits.

Very nice build, I like the gold, goes well with red!
