WIP: AMT Rod Rageous snap-fast slammer kit

Picked this up on Amazon last week - I really like this series of AMT kits...I like the designs and every now and then I want to do something fairly quick and easy to get something fun or interesting on my shelf. It's KINDA cool out of the box, but those wheels aren't the best and I'd like to do something a little more interesting with the paint:

A quick rummage through the parts stash later... 

I used some isopropyl alcohol to remove the prepainted flames, shot with primer and then a base of silver: 

And then a coat of the same lime green pearl that I had mixed up already for my Li'ler Mixer:

I dig the color! 

That's as far as I've got so far - planning to go grab some fire-y color airbrush paint and lay some flames next   More soon!
