... I pull out this project and monkey around with it.
The Mail Truck from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", the Rankin/Bass XMas show, is one of those vehicles whose toy counterpart is way too pricey a collectible to justify.
So, I thought I have enough spare pieces to pull a something together, kind of a show rod-ish version.
Started with a cab and cowl from a Fruit wagon:
Added the wheels to a Lil Gasser double rear drive. The tracks are from a Meng WWToon tank:
Shortened the rear bed and added PVC side panels:
Trimmed the rear fenders off of the stock frame and added some modified skis from a Soviet Aerosan:
And brought it all together:
Now, after some clean-up, and, if I can get around to painting it, maybe it'll be ready by XMas!!
