I had this WIP posted in the Showrods in Progress section. I wanted this project to be a combination of an American, European, modern and old school vehicle. I cut off the rear of the 1936 Mercedes (Rommels Rod)and the rear of the Porsche (1955 Speedster). Then I combined the Porsche rear to the Mercedes front. The body is old European, the engine and suspension are from the Dodge Viper - modern American, the interior is all modern American Too many scratch built pieces to list. A few are: wheels, from 12 pieces Front bumper from 6 pieces door panels all scratch built chassis 95% scratch built She's all done - I would like to officially call her Blue Dream Thanks for looking and I hope you like it.

End of a long road! Nicely done, the thing that popped out at me was that front bumper. For some reason I REALLY like it! My only criticism, no hood. Needs a hood, man! Where are the wheels and tires from?

Where are the wheels and tires from? Brian thanks for your nice comments. The front bumper is Art-Decoish. I tried a hood but it covered up too much of the Viper engine. I liked the open engine compartment thats why I added the struts from the grill to the firewall. The spoke wheels are from the Pie Wagon and the rest of the wheels are scratchbuilt. There is a hub behind the spokes with the lug nuts, brake rotor and caliper. I also added the outer rim on the spoke wheels.

Thanks all for your kind comments!
I think people like to see comments as they put a lot of work into their builds. I put about 80 hours into this one.

I put about 80 hours into this one. No sane person would ever believe how much work we put into these things, mostly for our own satisfaction/high standards!

Excellent! I like you using the style influences from the Mercedes and you rear design. They blend well. What are the tail lights from? The have a vintage Harley look from the thirties. Paul

Looks to me like it could have been an actual production vehicle! Nice job on the front/rear merge and the oh so crisp finish!

Thanks guys for all your nice comments. I wish it was sitting in my garage! Actually it wouldn't be sitting there, I'd be driving it all the time.
