my shaky left hand would make a mess out of this, but you sir, are my hero. I've seen a 1:1 about a year ago and this is just as clean as that was.

I'm not that steady either but I've learned to use all manner of supports to rest my wrists on while I'm working on these types of things , from my other fist to small cardboard boxes or blocks of foam and I have several different sizes handy . Of course extra strong reading glasses and tweezers are a must too !

Hello again Bob. Yes I'm of a similar state. Magnifier lights, one hand, my left wrist nearly taped to the desk! A desktop vice with a suction cup on the bottom! But again a super build. Like Paul I saw one about two years ago at the UK's biggest annual VW Beetle/Aircooled expo, where I tried to win the Meyers Manx built during the show over two days, but I didn't get it, what a blow!

Boy, howdy, Bob! That must be one HUUUGE quarter!
I probably would have stopped at a smooth paint job on the fender and said, "Yep, there it is... a VW fender." And never mind trying to photograph that thing.
Awesome job, as always, my friend!

It's another modeling technique , just like decals or foiling . . . we have to learn new ways to continue building !

Awesome job, as always, my friend! HAH ! Thanks Jim ! My photos are a bit deceiving , with the low angle the quarter appears larger than it really is . Without taking an actual measurement the fender looks to be at least 2 inches tip to tip !
