I see I'm not the only one on this board in need of the decal sheet from Monogram's Rattler. I know it's a long shot, but I had to ask anyway. Also need the snake tongue and the spoiler. Anyone??

I think these have to about the most rare of the showrod decals ; I've looked at decal lots on Ebay for years and never found even a partial sheet. Its just a rare kit and if you built it , you used the decals. Maybe someone here has an unbuilt one and you could get a scan of the decal and make copies.

I found these pictures online. You probably can't get copies off of these, but can get an idea what they look like. The one on the left looks original, but the ones on the right sorta look like copies, or later release(?) good luck Jim Richards

Hi Bob, As I was searching, I came across an old ad for a Rattler for sale, and these were on it, so I sniped them. Too bad the pictures weren't good enough to copy for decals.

Jim Too bad no one here saw it when it was still for sale, maybe the guy would have send a scan . whoever ends up making repro decals for this kit is bound to sell all he can make ! Funny how a kit like this that wasn't really popular and was released kind of at the end of the show rod craze ended up being the grail kit for so many guys. I'm sure glad that one of my few survivor builds from my childhood was a Rattler !

Don, I got these pictures from Worthpoint, No idea how long ago it sold,or for how much. The seller stated that the original decals were very cracked, and the two aftermarket decals, one was printed with white background and the other on clear. The aftermarket ones look out of proportion to me. I only printed these here as a reminder of what they looked like, for people (like me, LOL) could remember them. This kit came out in 1975, the year I graduated, I wasn't really buying TDs then anymore, so never got one. Now of course they don't come up often, and way out of my price range. I also didn't know before, that the kit started out as the Horned Toad. Very cool that you still have your original one. Jim

It's amazing how little plastic is in some of these old show rod kits! This one came out as I was starting to build my first real race car in high school. Didn't do much modeling for a few years.

I never thought it was a cool looking kit, but I'm a sucker for lime green which was likely the reason I bought it ! Its still complete and considering my dads habit of purging my stuff as a kid I'm amazed it survived .Its going to stay as is, unrestored.
