Another box stock build. The Pinto Street Rod from Monogram, circa 1997.
No paint on the body, I just polished that lovely lime green plastic, with home-grown flames. Interior is deep forest green, and medium blue for the engine block.
Yep, the green hood plastic was a little bit off from the body (Same kit, different tree batch I guess).
Most of the chrome got some Testors Graphite washes to tone it down and add character.
The only real deviations were the leaving off the side window louvers and opting for some chrome intakes rather than the kit's pro-stock scoop.
The kit's rear tail light lens was just clear, so it received a coat of transparent red spray on its backside.
Thanks for lookin'!

Thanks, fellas!
After looking at the pics I took, I see that, tho I went for polished plastic, the plastic itself was not a smooth blend of color.
Some striations are subtly apparent. But, you know, a friend of mine in high school could never get his hood to match the fenders on his Camaro either, so, flat black it was.

It's amazing how attention to detail and small variations change the look of a kit. Did you just use a polishing kit or is there any clear coat?
