I have been living in the high desert in Arizona for the past 3 months after moving from New Jersey, and my wife and I are loving it. I got my model desk set up and have been working on a couple. The Blue Crab I had built a Jeep model about 35 years ago and I although I did a nice job it was too typical so I decided to make some radical changes. I wanted to add monster tires and wheels and make it low to the ground (well as low as I could go using the giant tires) and have a beach theme. I ground off the fender flares front and back. I took a couple old Corvette dashboards from the parts box and combined then to span the Jeep dashboard. I scratchbuilt a roof and surfboard. For the powerplant I thought, Jeeps are Chryslers so I went into the engine parts box and chose an old Fire Dome hemi. I think this should be sufficient for getting this beast around. I had to do some finagling to fit it in the engine compartment. I found some wheels and used then for the backing on the original rims and then chromed them. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it so far. All constructive criticism and comments are always welcome. Dave

Interesting! Let's watch this and see more! Pat- it’s going to take a while. I moved across country and got my desk set up but I can’t find my airbrush. Somehow it got lost in the move across country. I don’t know how that happened. Darn! I had to order another one. It’s coming in a few weeks. I now have a backlog of a couple builds waiting for paint. Dave

It's still very interesting, plenty of time.

Update - I found my airbrush (after ordering another). So I returned the new one and am now using the old one. I'm glad I found it as I thought I was going senile!
