New pics from Atlantis , not sure of the release date . I had all of the originals and they're nice kits (1/32nd scale) . Missing are the Earthquake Vega and the Stampede Mustang II .

OOH good! No painting needed! Yes those colors look really nice ! While I don't see any tin work in the photos what I do see is the nice bright silver plastic for the chassis , much much better than the original dark grey/silver that Monogram used .

Thanks for the update from Atlantis on these cool kits,Bob!!! I have quite a few of the originals of these. Mostly builders, but I do have a handful of unbuilt ones. I built the "Fake Out" Ford for a small scale contest here several years ago,and had fun building that simple kit!!!
Atlantis continues to impress with what they have unearthed mold wise. I'm sure we'll have more gems in our model building future!!!

Hopefully they will get here to the UK, and yes a little painting round the chassis and engine will look good.

What's with the little wings sticking out above the rear tires? They don't seem to have been there on the original issues.

There were two different versions of these kits originally ; the first version I believe came with the spoilers . I remember even as a kid I thought they looked goofy and didn't put them on

OK let me set the record straight , the First issued cars had Tin work and NO spoilers on the side of the body ,The second issued car had the spoilers on the side and no tin work . some where in there some of these cars got smoked glass others did not .

What's with the little wings sticking out above the rear tires? They don't seem to have been there on the original issues. It was a brief period in drag racing funny cars, where many had "canard wings" (as I recall them being called). I remember Schumacher tried them as well as the Blue Max Mustang II. Some mounted them up on the body just before the rear tires, but most tried them mounted on the frame below the driver position. Like the front wheel fairings on early rear engine dragsters, they were only around for 1 maybe 1 1/2 seasons.
