This all started with a tidy, but falling apart, built up I acquired many years ago. Looking at it in more detail I wasn't impressed with the chassis (which was basic to put it mildly) and some of the styling touches didn't look right to me i.e. the moulded in rear "mudflaps". So I decided a complete overhaul was required to bring this classic up to date. I kept the honking great Ford lump, but added nitrous for even more go, gave the interior a refurb (complete with skull and crossbone upholstery) and then set about getting it all ready for the road, which involved: i) grafting in the chassis, suspension, brakes and transmission from a Mazda RX8, ii) flaring the rear fenders to cover the rear tyres (which took months of filling and sanding), iii) raising the front wheel arches to keep the ride height level, iv) adding fat, low profile wheels and tyres all round, rear view mirrors, windscreen wipers and angel eye headlights/ turn signals, v) blacking out the trim all round, and vi) fitting a licence plate (which just happens to be the Monogram catalogue number for the Poison Pinto!). And that's it, sort of a cross between a tuner and an old school muscle car!

Spectacular interpretation of this TD classic. How did you get the license plate decal the same as the kit number?

Thanks for the kind words chaps. Spectacular interpretation of this TD classic. How did you get the license plate decal the same as the kit number? The decals (including the logos) were the work of the much missed Decal Dan. On which point, I didn't notice that part of the decal on the driver's side is missing until after I'd taken the photos - bit late to do anything about it now!

Thanks guys. Simply outstanding Harley Love all the modifications and engine detail Nice paint match on the original green plastic Just one question would that jap box and diff handle all that ford power 😁😁😁 Gread build as usual I did wonder about the diff (for a moment) and then realised that the tuner crowd can get those rotary units to pump out over 700hp without major changes to the diff so I think we'd be good! The trans (which you can't see) actually is a Ford unit so no problems there, I hope!
