Hi gang. Haven't been here in a LONG time! Thought I had, but apparently not...lol. Anyway, I have acquired something a little odd (at least to me). Most of us know all about the 1/25 scale trike kits made by MPC (both originals and reissues). But, I got a hold of something I can't seem to find anything about. I have a Milk Trike body, molded in a lavender color, exactly like the MPC kit body. However, on the bottom of the floor panel, it is marked, in raised lettering, "ELDON 1970" and under that it says in smaller letters "Japan". The floor part is molded in white, as is one of the rear panels, but most of the body and the seat is molded in the lavender color. Was this kit originally released by Eldon, then the molds sold to MPC? Did Eldon "produce" the parts for this and MPC packaged and sold it? I'm confused...lol. I was gonna maybe mount this body on one of the newer reissue MPC labeled kits, without painting it, just for the 'nostalgia' of having a 53 year old model on the shelf, but I don't wanna do anything yet till I find out what exactly I have! Anyone got any ideas? Ron

The "Milk Truck" was a 60's show car built by Bob Reisner and Eldon released the "Milk Truck" kit in 1969 or 1970 molded in purple . It was later reissued by Doyushu molded in a dark blue plastic . I don't know what happened to the molds after that but doubt they went to MPC . I have one of the Doyushu kits and a couple of the original "Milk Trike" kits but they are both still sealed , I wasn't aware that the bodies are interchangeable . That's news to me !

I have some clarity for you. I have the Eldon "Milk Truck" kit TooOld Bob mentioned by Eldon. Does the part in question look like the picture of my white parts posted below? If so it is from the Eldon Showrod kit,and it’s NOT from the MPC Trike kit.
It’s from the kit Bob mentioned. The front of the instructions are posted below. Hope this clears things up for you.

In reply to Bob's post above (without adding all the pics back in). The two different bodies are not interchangeable. The trike kit has the motorcycle frame cast into it to accept the springer front end, I believe the truck is wider than the trike, and the windshield opening is shaped differently.
