Okay, so, admittedly, the 70s model kit industry offered up quite a few curve balls. MPC took some Airfix kits of early roadsters and did a simple addition of bigs and littles, and some superfluous power parts. But, you know, it almost works.
Here's my 1904 Darracq Roadster:
Painted cherry red, with a black frame and dark gray seats. Gold/brass accents and donor decals.
Drybrush wood dash.
As with my Piping Hot over in the guest gallery, MPC did a quality job producing the base kit. And this time, the provided slicks fit under the fenders (well, how could they not?).
Thanks for lookin'!

LOVE IT!! I have one of those put back. Per one review of the stock version of the kit it is almost exact 1/25 scale. It's a tiny car. I have not dug out info on the real car and checked but I bought mine after reading is was 1/25.

Definitely one of those "It shouldn't work but somehow it does!" kits. Now I know it's around 1/25 scale, I'm wondering what it would look like with a Corvair motor hanging out the back.....

Airfix had the Darracq as "32nd scale" on a box release, but you're right, it's definitely closer to 1/25. The Piping Hot and T Bomb are both smaller.

Nice to see this one brought to life. You did a great job! I had no idea it was close to 1/25. I thought they were going for the Zinger vibe.
I ended up gathering the entire series.

Don't think I've ever seen this one before , pretty cool looking little rod ! You're right it does "almost" work , actually it works much better than a lot of other old kits I've seen .
