I don't have a Mako Shark vette on the shelf, but I have a Gator!
I started with an AMT Stingaree, and shortened the body and frame about 3 inches, just ahead of the engine opening.
The body is painted a metallic emerald and pearl cream two-tone. I scanned and reprinted the decals on clear to get them to be a more subtle part of the paint scheme.
Some of the chrome got a wash of green alcohol ink, which tied in nicely with how the decals worked.
and the front wheels got swapped out for something a bit beefier.

I always thought the mav would look better shortened

This is another excellent concept and great execution. That green alcohol wash on the chrome--I have never seen that before and love how it fits with the overall color scheme. Can you tell me more about what that actually is?

Can you tell me more about what that actually is? Thanks! I was looking into creating a stained glass look for my Quasimodofied Racer (over on the Car-Toons site).
I ended up looking at ways crafters were creating ornaments using the same ink they use in stamp pads.
The ink comes in little squirt bottles. Lots of different colors.
Being alcohol based, they don't eat into the chrome, and you can wipe away excess using regular alcohol. Note, tho, it will probably mess up alcohol based chrome pen work, like Molotow or Sharpie. I haven't experimented there, yet.
