Store displays--sheeshhhhh they are so rare and special to this hobby in my mind, because while the models themselves can be and are reissued, the ancient store displays are not. They provide a unique portal through which we can experience those days, looking through a window at a hobby store, and seeing the desired outcome of a quest in a 3-D fantasy setting. So cool.
Glad you saved it and good luck!

Here are some photos after more cleaning and removing the wagon from the display itself, it was adhered with a sticky type glue to the wood block. I Was not able to save the drive shaft. A shot of the interior with the factory Applied paint work. The residue from the tire melt was very sticky. But it cleaned off really well with some cleaning methods I’ve used in the past on vintage hot wheels packages removing old sticky price tags. It cleaned up a lot better than I expected and the color is much more vivid. There is still staining and color loss but sadly there’s just not much I can do about that. Maybe some color touch up not sure yet, But considering how she looked I’m very happy. Also, the rear door was missing and the hinge was still glued inside at the top and bottom of the pins. looks to have been glued in the open position to show the pies in back. It took some time and was very tedious, but I was able to remove the broken pins, upper and lower and using a pin vice I was able to drill out the glue from the original holes and replace it with the new door in perfect working condition. This was actually more difficult than it sounds because of not being able to get to the inside corners of the wagon since she’s already built. The rear ornamental lantern hanger was glued and broken off inside the slot next to the door. That’s cleaned out and ready for the new one. I’m very happy so far.
