I got my Unreal Roller from Atlantis this weekend, and then got another email from Atlantis talking about future events. One thing that caught my eye is a vague announcement of the reissuing of a special Tom Daniel kit which got me wondering - what kit would it be , and what kit would I want it to be ? I was thinking the Baja Bandito as that was on the board for reissue before Revell packed up and fled the country , but the Son of Ford or Dog Catcher would be great !

Hmmmmm . . . the Baja Bandito would be cool . Since Revell was sort of planning it does that mean the molds were brought back from China or are they gone forever . My guess from Atlantis for a "Special" TD kit would be a larger scale kit , they seem to like doing those (especially Funny Cars). Maybe another 1/12 scale trike or maybe even the Mean Maverick ! Then again it's probably the Big Red Baron to go along with the Ghost . . . too bad it's not high on my list .

Son of Ford, Blue Beetle, Baja VW were all in Revell's hand and in China last run. So doubt Atlantis has them.

I just seen the Facebook video and Atlantis is doing the Pie Wagon . I dont think the Pie Wagon is going to be a big seller , its been reissued many, many times ; there's always a lot of them on Ebay . The Poison Pinto would have been a better choice IMHO

The logic of Pie Wagon is I BET the tooling is ready to run with almost no investment. We'll see.....I have enough.

I just seen the Facebook video and Atlantis is doing the Pie Wagon . Yep ,I just got word its the Pie Wagon . They said its being released in its original form, so I guess it will be the same color and have the same decal sheet, which again, I think isnt going to help it in sales like the Rattler may have if it was reissued in its original form . As far as I know , the kit has never been made into something else ( Dragon Wagon to Hangman, etc.) , the decal sheet has always been the same . The only change is that at one reissue Monogram did away with the red plastic and went to the off white. I cant see anyone paying $30 for a kit that's been around for almost 60 years and has been reissued many times with no real changes. I just hope that if it becomes a slow seller it doesn't sour Atlantis from reissuing other , more scarce showrods in the future

They did say something about the Street Pinto was coming ! I seem to remember seeing a test shot or something being shown a while ago , this will be a good seller ! As for the Pie Wagon . . . another quick and easy one for Atlantis but they'll sit on shelves for a loooong time . I won't be buying one .

I might consider buying ONE but it will only be after I see/hear how the brass chrome looks. That "copper" crap in the Sidewinder was awful! The Street Pinto , however, will definitely be a multiple purchase!

Check out my latest posting on "SCORE! Post your great finds". Very possible we'll never see another release of the Baja Beast because the molds were sent to Bandai in Japan 1976-ish.

Check out my latest posting on "SCORE! Post your great finds". Very possible we'll never see another release of the Baja Beast because the molds were sent to Bandai in Japan 1976-ish. Revell-Monogram reissued the Baja Beast in 1994. Revell was set to reissue it with the original Baja Bandito decals (and presumably molded in orange) about five years ago, but Tom got into an argument with them over licensing and nixed it. Don’t know if Revell still has the tooling or if it went to Atlantis. Brian
