You can start a new discussion thread within an individual forum by clicking on the Create Thread link in the upper right-hand corner:
Then start typing away. At the bottom of the posting/typing area, you'll see that, by default, you are in the Preview mode. The BBCode interface is beyond the scope of mere mortals like me:
The formatting bar gives you a variety of tools you can use to customize your message:
When you're happy with your message, you can click the Create Thread button in the lower right-hand corner:
If you want to edit your posting after creating it, you can do that with the Edit link and then Save Changes:
And if it was all just a misunderstanding, you can delete your own post:
