But this is directed towards the moderators. I was wondering if there is a way to add another board in the general discussion area? Why you ask, well it goes back to something Tim had said way back but I've been thinking about all along. It seems that most other boards regardless of the area of interest has a discussion area for "intros". Tim had stated that he'd like to see names as it's tough to keep track of everyone and I thought it would be cool to have the Intro board just for that. A place where if you wanted to find out about one of the members that it would be out there.
Well, everyone, good idea? Bad idea? I'm just having a hard time remembering who is who with all the new guys and the old guys using different names.

I like the idea AJ. It would be nice to know who's who.

I'll second that motion, A.J. It is much harder on this board to keep track of who-is-who.

Excellent idea! Kind of a "Who's-Who" zone where you could put a face and a name together. We could post permanent pics of ourselves, our work area, etc; It would be nice to know about family, jobs, other interests too. I always find that kind of thing interesting, and it is what makes this group so tight-knit I think. Outside of having your own personal webpage, I think this would be a healthy thing for the board.

The other thing is that on the Volksrods web site, they only ask that just the originator post in the intros. I don't care either way about that but if you have your own intro, you are able to add photos of anything and it is sort of what Tim would say a way to find individual's works and such. So if you wanted to post your work area pics, they'd be there as well as real car pics or whatever you wanted to post there. Although comments are great and we love to hear them, they can (for lack of better terms) deepen the string pretty quick. And intros would be better suited to the originator. Just a suggestion but I've been a member ever since the beginning with Dave and I've so enjoyed meeting people and knowing a little about them.
Oh well, I'm glad the idea was well received. A.J.

Wouldn't it be as simple as adding your name to your signature (in your profile) Like Honest Charlie already has?
We can't tell who's who unless they fill that in when they sign up. And there isn't any way to build a list from something we don't know.

Well, yes and no. My thoughts were originally with Tim in that if we had people put their names in their profiles in place of the login name that would be good but the thought evolved to having an intro section where you could put a posting of yourself telling about yourself so if anyone was interested in knowing everyone who passes through they could look at their profile or intro, whatever you want to call it. I wasn't sure how simple or difficult it would be to add another board under the general discussions for guys to place their information.
