ok, i got this dvd yesterday...and let me just say "it's out there". sure, it's got that awesome footage of von dutch"doing his thing", which is incredible by the way. also has a few other guys laying down some pin string and lettering....but it's a short clip. the movie itself is just weird...almost too weird. there is alot of informative stuff on there about big daddy, and how it all started. they also cover the models & drawings, t-shirts and car shows...but, i could do without the talking cars. it was ok, but not what i envisioned it would be. the bonus footage is one of the best parts, and one deleted scene...which they should have left in the movie. the deleted scene is great, don't know why they left it out. anyone know the song "raggmopp"? you know, they spell out r-a-g-g-m-o-p-p and then sing raggmopp ? well, they do that song with the letters r-a-t-t-f-i-n-k ratfink. the song goes to what looks liek a commercial for a hobby shop...it's really cool and they show all kinds of roth stuff in it.

I have to agree. It IS a strange movie. For us Roth Groupies it didn't really have any new information. Interesting to have in a Roth collection but definitely on the "weird" side of the tracks! I also resented not being able to fast forward through the advertisement for the headbanger band at the start!

Roth is such an icon in the American car culture and so much has already been written about him and his life that I'd have been surprised if the DVD revealed anything new. Being what I'd call a "casual" Roth fanatic, I enjoyed it for what it was and had fun looking at all the hot rods. Besides, I thought the "extras" footage of Roth and Von Dutch was worth what I paid for the DVD.
And, yeah, Allan Sherman singing "Ratt Fink" was a hoot!
