Got the AMt/RC2 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger today.
Looks like a re-work of the Dukes Kit.
You get two front grilles ('69 & '70) and two rear bumpers.
The '70 grille is seriously "Blocky" and looks kinda odd, but I have to admit that I like it,and will use it.
The engine is the same Hemi, from MPC that it has always been.
All the parts for the 'stock' dual carb engine are there.
All RC2 has added are the parts for the blower and scoop.
The scoop is huge! On the down side, the scoop halves have a sprue right dead center of the leading edge, top and bottom.
A real processing bummer.
The chassis and interior are all unchanged, (at least to my eye) I'll do a side-by-side look tomorrow.
There are both stock and 'blower' hoods in the kit, and the 'Dukes" rollcage, and spindly front pushbar/ grill guard are there too.
You get two sets of rims. Some really funky 5-spoke mags that look like the were inspired by Cragars, but have odd, flat faced hub caps. There other set are the old Magnum 500's that always wound up in MPC Mopars.Strangely, you also get two(and only two) stock 'steel' rims, as well. Wish there had been four.
I'll substitute some Radir or Cragar rims when I build it.
The 5-spokers are good only for the parts box.
The chrome looks a bit worse than is the norm these days for RC2, but ain't bad. There are some detail bits on the chrome tree from previous versions of the kit that you can use.
To sum up.
90% Old kit. New parts are blower'n'scoop, hood to fit same, '70 grile and weird 5-spoke rims.
Parts for a kinda-sorta stock '70 are there. (flat hood, dual-carbs w/ aircleaner, and magnum 500 rims, combined with new '70 grille and rear bumper)
Looks like a complete General Lee could be made too.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
