I sectioned the nose through the grille, shaped the bottom of the Predicta bubble to fit the Vette cowl and tulip panel, and started a custom taillight treatment: Before: After:

I did a little shaving with a hobby knife (scraping, not cutting) but most of it was done by furious use of an emery board.

I was wondering what happen too it. ........weren't we talking about the trunk the last time we saw it. ? I was going to reverse-hinge the trunk and attach the bubble to it, but now I think I'll add a raised ridge/fin down the middle, ending in a frenched box for the twin drag chutes. I'm going to fill the bumper mounting holes first. Maybe I can section the trunklid a little to take a little of the crown out of it first.

Nice job Scurvy but I'd like it better as a full custom. I just can't see a bubble top doing a 10 second 1/4...!

Just imagine George Jetson joining the gasser wars...
The engine compartment will be filled with twin turbines that will dump out exhaust funnels worked into deepened side-coves. There was already a great bubble-topped custom Vette. I didn't want to build X-Sonic, though.
I dunno - I just REALLY wanted to do a bubble-topped MS/C - Perhaps somebody will lift up a Predicta or Silhouette and come race me.

Hey Dave, Just A Few Wacky Thoughts, If Your Going For The Future Gasser Look, I'd Go All The Way, Miss-Matched Wheels, ( & Tires,Wht Walls for the rear, Black /Five spoke front)...Filled or Blank Headlights, No Tailights, Interior /Dash Would Be Done In Chrome Metalizer , Red Tint The Bubble,Possibly use the Badman hood scoop/ Clear Acrylic Roll Bar , or Single/dual headpods / Tarp Over Passenger seat Possibly, Lil Coffin Steering Wheel, jacked up in front, moon tank in grill area

I was wondering about that one to Scurv. Really diggin' the start of it, looks like it will come together nicely. What happened to the airplane digger and the tank thingie? Are they finished? Did you get your pinup decals by the way?

Did you get your pinup decals by the way? You know Tim, I've answered that question twice already, but here is the answer again: Yes, got the decals and the one with the minigun is PERFECT! Tank is done... Mess-O-Schmitt is on hold until after our Vette-themed club meeting next week. Brandon... I figured the bubble was made out of some impermeable material, but perhaps a clear roll hoop would be a nice addition. Headlights will be Lucas units with radar disc-laden ariels protruding out from between them. Taillights will be Cadillac bullets. Interior will all be diamond-tuck silver-flake "vinyl" with "wrist twist" controls. The tank filling the center grille opening will be a Red Baron fluted unit with the filler protruding through the recess that would normally hold the Vette emblem. I think the final color will be a light blue pearl - silver flake fade.

I told ya awhile back I'd build something to match race you with. If interested, how soon do you plan on finishing it so we can debut together?

What color this goong to be Scruv? I think it's going to be a light, silver-blue pearl on top, fading into a silver metalflake on the bottom. I may dust it all over with some prismatic flake, but I'm not sure about it.

I have used the MGC photo-etched saw blades to cut clear plastic and they work very well. Just use slow cuts with very little pressure and you won't crack the plastic. I use an emery board to finish the edges.
