That looks fantastic tim! You have got to do a bamboo exhaust system. you could even use real bamboo! One idea i've had is to extend these pieces of the frame out and form spears?

Paul, I used one of the flat, circular red cutting tips to rough it all up. I just kept moving the part around and hitting it at different angles until I got what I wanted. Chief, I can send you a tiki to cast from. These are about 2 inches high, and the detail is pretty good! E-mail me your address again please!!

Martin. Good point on the "spear:...(pun intended). I had actually thought of doing something like that at the rear of the frame where it comes to a point, but i think I'm going to lop the point off and shape it like bamboo, and hollow the ends out. thanks for the input!!

That's going to be wild Tim I love it! But I think you ought to leave the exhaust just a nice custom design and chromed along with the wheels,engine/trans, frontend and handle bars.Do a cool Tiki air cleaner instead. The body, frame, seat, and air cleaner, will all be the Tiki look. The browns and greens etc. when you paint it won't be as loud as pearls and candys like you would normally do and I think the chrome would enhance them. And I would fill where the jewel came off and put the filler cap higher up like on a radical tank to get the maximum on a fillup! To me it will look like a real themed show bike doing the circuit! Just my $.2 worth.

Tim, Personally, I feel Your Design is Great, I would say the direction your going with it , is the Way To Go !!! I Have To Agree With Joe Though, Bamboo Forks Is A Must ! - The more Bamboo , The Better !!!...the Indian Larry Chopper is Kool, But Your Bike is taking it to another level, , Wheels, Tiki Tank, Etc; That's going to be The Ultimate Tiki Bike !!!

Tim,
Rather than bamboo-izing the entire exhaust, why not just make bambooesque heat shields to cover the more exposed sections, and let the chrome peek out from underneath? Oh yeah - a half-a-coconut headlight would be boss.

Thanks guys! Scurvy, was just discussing that coconut headlight with buddy Joey a couple nights ago!! I think I'll hit the parts box for something rounder, then rough-it-up with some sandpaper, maybe roll it in some lint or something before I airbrush it!! Great minds think alike! LOL.

Tim, since you are thinking about doing a coconut style headlight, how about a palm leaf style seat cover. Might look kind of cool and really blend in the theme.
It's really looking good Tim, keep up the awesome work!

Timbo I have to say, you are way more imaginative than me when it comes to painting and design. I, like many others here at Dave's hobby shack, admire your energy and entusiasm, not to mention your really cool work. You, Paul Canney, Brandon, and the rest of you mooks, keep this place on track. Thanks for letting me join in from time to time. I'm loving your Tiki Bike. Can' wait to see it finished. BOOM

Thanks much for all of your input so far. I sat down last night and worked on the fenders with the dry/wet brush and paint, and they look much better. I've decided they look more like bark than fronds, and it seems to work. I added some really dark brown in all of the recessed areas. Rick and Dan made some comments about the seat, and I myself kind of feel it is a bit weak. Although I like the cane pattern, I was thinking of doing it like the fenders in more of a darker bark finish. The primary cover is going to get somewhat of the same treatment as well as the oil tank. Any more input on this? ;D
