Well, I've been slow at it for all obvious reasons, but yesterday I managed to paint ONE PART and this morning actually GLUED IT ON!! WOOHOO! Well, it was a big part that has given me trouble at any rate. After the "heat gun incident" a few weeks back, I had to make a new roof insert. At one time, I must have had a dozen of these things, but I had given a bunch of Coffin parts to one of you guys here, and I ended up down to my last one!! It was from a 1964 issue kit, and it was a bit rough. It had some kind of black spots on it and a tire melt spot, and every time I'd basecoat it, the black would come thru. I kept sanding the h*ll out of it and recoating it, but the spots would come thru, plus I had everything from ass hairs to gnats landing in it and it just looked aweful. So, yesterday I sent it into the purple lake, then sanded it like a madman and recoated it. I finally got a good finish on it and avoided anything crashing into it. It's painted with AutoAir Chameleon Purple, which flip-flops purple to green. I did the interior the same, but used a glossier finish than the roof insert.
Heres where I killed the original parts I had made!!! Don't, I repeat, DON'T use your heat gun on too high of a setting to cure your paint quick!! LOL! This cost me alot of time and work!
I kept the cramped interior pretty basic. You'd have to have your knees up under your chin to drive this thing! LOL. The dash is bare bones except for a high-tech photoetched guage panel.
I wanted to shoot a few pics before I glued the roof insert in place. I can't make up my mind wether to just post this build here or submit it to the Gallery when it's done. I haven't sent a Gallery entry in a long time. The cars almost done, the trailer is still in the works, but almost finished as well.
