It won't be done for NNL West, but it's on its wheels (the rears are still removeable, so I can adjust out that "three wheel stance" it's sporting in these pics): I still have to get steering linkage, rear brakes, lettering/striping and a bunch of other stuff on/in it, but I think it sure looks good!

Whoa! I don't know what to call it besides the coolest freakin 200mph Bubble topped Coffin I ever done seen! OK, so it's the ONLY one I've ever seen... and I might have understated the 200 MPH part, but still, AWSOME! I love it! as far as the three wheel stance, Go with it, we'll just pretend it torqued the frame and kinda warped it... it is made of plastic after all... LOL! ahh, even if you all think I'm a weiner, I can still make myself laugh!

Man, I've been waiting for you to finish this one up Dave. This thing is badass Bro.....Your weathered finish makes it pretty interesting. What kind of marking are you doing, military of some kind I guess? How about some little dragsters stamped on the drivers side (like on the red baron) showing competition he's "killed"? It all works great at any rate. If you end up throwing this one on eBay in the future, let me know, I'd like to bid on it!

What is the canopy and body from? Also what type of engine and scale? ???Chief Parts rundown: The body is a Gunze Messerschmitt 3-wheeler in 1/24 scale. The chassis is Jawbreaker, the rear tires are Tamiya 1/20 F-1, and the rear wheels are Stinger pieces inserted into Detail Master aluminum rims. Front rolling stock was found on the front of a couple of West Coast Choppers diecast bikes, and the engine is made up of TWO of the six cylinders from the Red Baron, fed by twin injectors and a big centrifigal supercharger. No military paint on this one - it's going to stay off-white and rusty with a bare, oxidized chassis. It will get some striping and lettering... maybe some fictional sponsor decals (Blowenhuffer Superchargers? Rockerslappen Camshafts?) Look for a "Von Deutsch" flying eyeball mit stormtrooper helmet on the back of the canopy.

Yeah - I was Steve Hinson's "Staff Pick" at the show - I wouldn't be surprised if he built something in a similar vein sometime soon. I tell ya, I had a great day at NNL West - an award, my Alfa shot for Model Cars Magazine, and I won a Big 'T' in the raffle!
