Thats Kool Scurvy!!! Are those things rubber-band powered? I remember building something similiar (or it was that) when I was a kid in like 2nd grade and we would spend hours playing with those things after building them..............Fred

They're still available in the hobby shops for $5-$6 a pop.

I always thought those Hawk bonneville models would be a good base for a weiner mobile
nice work though - way better than the original rubber banded things

Love your "killer bee" -Chuck- We used those Turbo-Gos for a club speed-building contest in December. After we built them, we decorated them with Sharpies and rolled them down a ramp across a tile floor for distance. The winner of the speed building contest got his dues for free. I usually win the contest, but I promised to loaf this year and give someone else a chance.

So you broke that thing out! Good start, can't wait to see how this one progresses. I always liked these salt/speed cars. We have quite a history here being near Daytona, and I've always had a fascination of those early pioneers of land sped racing. Sadly, lots of these guys got roasted in the early years on the beach in some horrendous crashes. Sir Malcolm Smiths restored "BlueBird" is in the Museum at the Daytona sppedway. IT'S HUGE!!! Scary lookin' too!
Ever read the story of the "Mormon Meteor"? Good reading. The guy was nuts with balls the size of a Volkswagon, but totally responsible for land speed trials being taken out to the salt flats! Worth a trip to the library!

Whatta' ya' thinkin' on final color scheme? (Please don't say "So-Cal" Speedshop....thats soooooo worn out...) I'm not absolutely sure. I was over at Steve Garcia's house (he's crewed on several Bonneville lakesters and streamliners) and was looking at his photo albums. I think I'm just going to paint it a single pearl or metallic color and add some lettering. Probably red - that's a good color for a racecar.
