I am making a hearse out of the vette van!!! ;D ;D ;D...........That is why I put "hearse-gasser project" in the first sentence above ..........I just made it metallic silver instead of black........I will paint the roof area black and use landau bars on the sides and a curtain in the rea window. The injector stacks are fromthe Georgia Shaker kit, the awb ford falcon kit from the model king............................................Fred

Well rustybill, I just love building models and it can be any form, r/c planes and cars, to figures, to cars, planes, tanks etc!! I have grown kids (well at least not little ones to chase around) my oldest is 17 and my youngest is 14 (Michael the other builder) which alot of my building is done with him. We have a modeling room with an 8 ft work table and we sit side by side building models. I figure it is quality time spent with him. My oldest has his own vehicle and between high school and his two part-time jobs (at a vet's office and country max store) he wants to be an animal vet. (oh god!!! college tuition!!! ) so his time is pretty booked up. My wife who has had a long career in nursing, starting from the bottom has been able to enhance her career by working her way up to a Director of Nursing at a Nursing home. Her job requires long hours and with myself being retired from 21 1/2 of law enforcement (you can retire after 20 yrs of service) I pretty much take care of the day to day stuff at home with the boys and our many pets. I do have a little side job detailing full size cars that I have always done even when I was working as a cop, but model building is just my true hobby....I do not hunt or fish, golf, I do not collect guns (big hobby of most cops) I do not smoke, drink, gamble, go out to partys/bars/fill in the blank ;D ;D ;D, do not chase women (LOL). I do have my real cars- the 73 hearse and 80 malibu but they do not require much work so in a nut shell I guess I just have my hobbies to keep me entertained ;D ;D ;D.......................aside from the haunted house in October, I lead a pretty boring life ;D ;D ;D ;D

I love that dashboard. Reminds me of my grandmas old Olds, the speedo had a color coded horizontal bar that turned reddish the higher the speed .

Well thanks guys!! ;D ;D ;D............Thank you for noticing Ratrod, Now that the weather has warmed up here in New York the paint flows alittle better now. ..............Actually was done out of a tamiya rattle can but this one was wet sanded between primer coats, paint coats and clear coats........I haven't even put any polish on it yet, just the 3200, 3600, 4800, 6000, 8000, and 12,000 grit polishing pads........It definetly pays to do a little extra work on the prep and paint!!! ;D ;D.........I do the majority of my painting out of a rattle can, very seldom use the airbrush, just hate having to clean it out ........Fred
