Started on the Rommel's Rod this weekend. This kit is being built totally box stock. (I have never built a complete unbuilt RR) I finshed the motor and just detailed with various shades of paints. I was able to sprary the interior bucket german gray and did the seat padding and the folded canvas top in a tamiya nato brown that was then gone over in a black wash. I then got the boys out and after glueing their body parts together and filling the seams on their helmet and hat, I then sprayed them flat black. I then decided to paint them a more yellowish/brown bone color instead of just white. I mixed up a acrylic burnt umber with yellow and drybrushed this on allowing the black to still show through. I then added a little white to the mix and used gradually lighter shades. Rommels hat was painted with nato green, brown, and silver for goggle lenses, and emblem on hat.
