I'm putting this in here, because it will definitely be an ongoing project. I got hold of Dick again last night, and he is good with getting some of his models put in the Starbird museum. The real problem is in getting him to settle into a decent conversation and iron out the details. I'm going to compose a letter outlining what and where everything going. I think it's better for him this way to have it in front of him. I'll keep you posted as this project comes along!

Although that would be kool Dave, it probably won't happen. Dick has a serious thing about the past, he really has no interest in it. (And I mean NONE) He is all about looking forward, which isn't a bad thing, but his past history with his models is an important part of modeling today. I would say his builds, Auggies, Ira's, Keeler, Anderson, those guys, laid the groundwork and cornerstones of modern kitbashing techniques.
I've had to press him a bit to get anything out of him, and I still don't have a lot of info. I've yet to find out if his models are in good shape or what, and how many of them there are. I hope to get a good display of items for the Starbird Museum if possible, so everyone can once again enjoy his work. This stuff is still inspiring after almost 40 years!
