Thanks guys! ;D I still have some bodywork to do yet like filling pinholes and smoothing out the inside more so it looks a little more presentable. I also need to modify the interior pan as it doesn't sit down on the chassis frame like it should to hold the body up off the front tires. The "tall" fuel cell was keeping the body off the front tires before. If it isn't always something! ;D I'll have to go back to my original thread and read the paint colors you guys suggested for this build.

Hi Morristhek! Thanks for comments about my build. There are a few others of us here that build funnycars as well as show rods. There are more pictures of this build in the "General Show Rod Board" of the forum. Look for the "'51 Studebaker Funny Car" thread to see those pics, and suggestions for the paint job as well. If you have any suggestions or ideas, I'm always open to them. Thanks again and welcome to the group! ;D

You couldn't take it because I'm taking too long to finish mine, or you just had to have one? Like to see what you come up with for your paint scheme. ;D

Here are three pics of my latest update to the '51 Studebaker Funny Car I've been working on: As you can see I have modified the interior tin so it fits better when the body is down on the chassis frame. I have it stuck inside the body with blue tape at this time. I added a short crossmember in front of the fuel cell as this crossmember is a molded part of the kit fuel cell I didn't use. I also updated the computer box by sanding off the detail moldings on the top and removing those small "pips" off the backside where the wiring is supposed to enter the box. I also got a different blower hat from Competition resins, this one is a short carbon fiber blower hat. I also added the drive shaft to the rear end and added the instrument cluster crossmember and stearing box to the cockpit area. Lastly, I now have a late model funny car body stand to prop the body open. Now to start getting the body cleaned up for painting. ;D

Man! I can't believe how far back I had to go to find the last time I updated this thread, 33 pages! Anyway, I have been doing some work on a few of my stalled projects. Here is a pic of this one: I finally got the stance I wanted for it. Now to do more work on the chassis and get this one lookin pertty.

Hey Stevie! Glad to see you're back at it! I was beginning to wonder about this beauty. Here's a refresher on the paint idea I had offered up, low so many months ago ;D. At the time I was thinking teal & purple with the thin lines indicating which colors where so as not to wipe out the detail on that cool body . Hope this helps to jog your memory . Keep up the great work ;D! "Paulie"

Yup. I remember that paint scheme. I may have to have one of the expert painters here do that for me. Keeping it in mind. Thanks. ;D

I can't believe it's been since February this year that I posted to this thread. Working the midnight shift has really taken it's toll on my building time. Anyways...heres a few more pics of the Stude. I finally found the wheel combination I wanted: I do hope to get more work done on this, and my other builds soon. Thank you for any feedback or comments.

Thanks, Sakke. All the pictures for this build are in the two pages of this thread, which btw, started way back in 2007. (I had to look myself to see it has been that long.) I will post more pics as I work on this. Thanks for your interest, guys. ;D

Since I deleted my Photobucket account I don't think any of the above pictures show anymore. I'll post a few of how the build looked just before I put it in storage back in 2013... I hope to get back to working on this build later this year, 2018, 11 years after I started it. LOL!!!
