The build-up looks like it's going fine, to me. Any chance of getting some more info / close-ups about the "inspiration artwork" seen in one shot; and that T-shirt logo? (That one looks very cool, too!)

Yes Joe, I haven't come out of the closet yet......LOL.
Inspiration artwork? Hmmmmm...You mean the Showrod card sitting next to it? It's that same dang shot of the Martian Spider you always see!
The t-shirt logo I have on. It's a caricature of a real hotrod, a buddy of my Dad's up in Daytona. Old WW2 medical van. He's since added a second blower to it!! It's pretty kool, but he's got so much money in it it's ridiculous!!

Yeh well, I like to lighten things up a bit once in a great while!! ;D The closet.....Yeh, it's home I guess. Fortunately, I'm not a huge guy. Basically, this is the assembly bench. I have a nice shop in my garage, where I have plenty of room for drilling, cutting, grinding, painting, and all that stuff. Only in the last six months is it getting organized. I can actually get to my lathe now. Now I just need to learn how to use it!! My closet bench is very organized, with lots of parts cabinets, pull out cabinets next to it, and drawer space for storage. The other end of the closet is packed solid with all of my most valuable kits, and some storage tubs full of built kits. It's cool in the summer, and warm in the winter, and has a great view out into the marshland that surrounds my house. One of these days I hope to occupy a small downstairs room on the back of my house, which currently is a playroom for granddaughter Harmony. (Of course, so is my family room, living room, another bedroom....) Sigh....Toys, toys, and more toys!! (I had forgotten how bad MicroMachines hurt when you step on them!!!) I stepped on the container for some old Viewmaster reels we had a few months ago, in the dark, so full force on the downstep. I busted my ass, and bruised two of my toes so bad it was unreal. I also had a gaping cut on the bottom of another toe!! I was limping for about a week! So, in the meantime, I'll stay in my closet where it;s nice and safe, and full of CA fumes..... ;D Oh, and when I told my wife how I hurt myself, she say's: "Well, did you break it? That Viewmaster container is very old you know!!!" LOL.

Inspiration artwork? Hmmmmm...You mean the Showrod card sitting next to it? It's that same dang shot of the Martian Spider you always see! I'm assuming you mean there aren't any / many other shots? If so, here's one more shot ... and this one shows the top opened up! It's also at a slightly different angle; and the page ID's the engine. www.jayohrberg.com/70.htmlIf you were trying to emulate the original Martian Spider really closely, you'll be upset to find out the body hinges upwards at the back (not the front); and that it does so near the beltline.

Of course, lets not forget these aweful shots... Oh, I don't know ... that post or whatever towards the front, in the second picture sort of looks Tiki-ish. I think I'd re-do the big spider in a Tiki theme, before I'd go with an Eiffel Tower one, if I were them?! (Do some weird paint job on the result, and call it "Tiki on Acid" or something?)
