Ok klowns. I have a fair bid on this auction. I only need the boiler on the rear of the Flame Out so I can finish mine. So maybe we can join forces or something if anyone needs the other pieces parts. Send me a pm for any creative ideas. I'm not trying to undermine the seller, I just really need the red thing at the bottom url removed by pbc

Paul,
Keep your eye out for the AMT antique fire pumper. It is a replica that has that aparatus on it. It may be that AMT stole parts from it to make the Falmeout. I bid on a couple, but never won.
Good luck Bud
Scott

ok guys. Its good to know I'm the only one who wants the red thing. I have my final bid in. It's 14 less than my age. If I win I'll be counting on you all to help me unload the the other "things"

Wouldnt that be out of scale since it is 1/12?

It would be if the Flameout actually had a scale. It might say 1/25th on the Flameout but that doesn't mean that the whole kit is in 1/25th scale. As Scott and I have both mentioned, we believe these to be identical parts used between the 2 kits. I can't confirm it because I've never had the Christy Fire Engine in my hands to compare. I've pretty much merely compared to the box art and found that a lot of the common parts look identical.
My point is that the Christy is a scale version for sure. The Flameout is so far out, they probably just used the parts to mimic the Christy in hot rod form. I'm pretty sure that the Koo Koo Kar's clock body isn't 1/25th scale to a real one nor is the diver's helmet in the Depth Charger which are both from the same series.
So, same parts??? Don't know for sure but they look the same to me. We aren't the only 2 guys that have came across that either. I've heard it from others but whether they looked into it first hand or not, I don't know.
That's all I can tell ya from my point of view. ;D

If you win it, I'd be seriously interested in kicking in for the Gypsy part.... I've always wanted a Horn Toad, but the more I look at it, the less inspired I get. Why is that?
