Well here's the almost finished project .. This was done for a friend who owns a Red/White 1:1 . He'll be receiving this for a Christmas gift because he's just a good dude and always worried about everybody else giving help where needed and leaving his needs for last .. I've commissioned DkalD to do his magic and as soon as the decals arrive - they'll be placed on the upper white portion of the rear quarter panels .. She's painted with Special Olympic white base/clear followed up with HOK Orion Silver base/ Radiant Sunset red II Kandy then buried in several coats of HOK clear .. Then out came the scalpel and I BMF'ed all the trim . The tires were a nightmare because of how they're made I had to split all the lettering and install them one at a time to meet the contour of the tire . Before installing the white letters I took Scurvy's advice and dry brushed the tires with a little flat black for depth.... followed up by a .000 felt tip pen for all the hood, trunk, and door lines .. I hope the link makes the jump ... public.fotki.com/DoctorChuck/model_display/1232329.htmlpublic.fotki.com/DoctorChuck/model_display/1232326.html

Thanks for the replies fella's .. I'll be sure and post a final picture when the decals arrive .. ! The tires were the challenge of this build .. I found the front GOODYEAR lettering on a Funnycar decal sheet.. The rear FIRESTONE decals came from a monster truck decal sheet .. Both decals sheets of which were given to me many years ago by a friend who was giving up models .. you never know what parts will be needed down the road building this stuff !

;)Very NICE BUILD of a Classic Chevy ;D ,Makes me wanna break out my Snap Draggins and build a few!!! Thanks Chief ... This was really a fun build .. a very simple kit , yet you can go wild with detail ... It's not clear in the pictures , but I also drilled out the tips of the headers just in case I want to add a little "smoke" ... I almost ran a shifter thru the roof (Harold's car is a 4 speed) and a big hairy arm out the side tinted glass .. but I decided to leave it in a more subtle state ...lol...
