See, I know I should have asked my wife before I posted the color. I'm colorblind so sometimes I have real issues identifying colors.
If you're interested in selling/trading it, send me a PM and we'll talk.
Thanks!!!

Just to clarify, there is actually a purple casting of the Pie Wagon. It was issued around 1973 and is very different than the magenta color that it's normally molded in.
That purple issue wouldn't have came before 73 or much long after that. They went back to the original color later. You could also get the LiL Coffin in this same purple.

How many issues of the Pie wagon have there been. The one I have . The copyright on the body says 1968, and its molded in white, But the purple one looks neat Just had to ask. James

Although some people refer to that as purple, that isn't the purple issued kit. That is pretty much the stock color or original issue color. I'll get a pic up shortly so everyone knows what I'm talking about. A.J.

Okay, so here is the low down on what I have. The following picture shows 3 variations of maybe 4 or 5 total. The body on the left is an original issue in that sort of plum or magenta, whatever people like to refer to it as. I know some people call this purple but being an art major when I went to college, it's not purple to me. The body in the middle is what I refer to as the purple one. It is roughly a '73 issued kit. The one on the right I'm unsure of. I don't remember where it came from or who I got it from for that matter but it is a different shade once again. It was in an original box but I believe that somebody put a much later issue in it and sold it as original, hard to tell and that's only an opinion. Although I don't have any open, the issue that came out the same time as the black Bad Medicine might in fact be this one. No clue as it never really mattered that much to me. I just wanted to show you some of the variations and clarify which is actually the purple one that I'm referring to. Hope it helps, A.J.

The one on the right looks like the reissue I picked up in the late 80s, or around 1990. When I get home from vacation I can look at it again and know for sure. I did pick one up a few years ago from a Kay-Bee Toys outlet store, and that one is molded in white plastic like what was said above (I bought the kit again because I thought my other build was long lost ... and then it turned up when I was unpacking some boxes, dusty and broken but easily fixed up).

No problem Ed, just trying to make sure everyone gets what they are looking for... ;D Another added note that I'm unsure of. I know the white issue is more recent and I think it could be the one in the newer TD artwork box but I can't confirm that either. As for that one on the right, it's like a blood red color, really deep and dark. A.J. Thanks A.J. can't get clear'r'r'r'r than that. The one I have is the color of the first (left one) ED

If you have a box that has the airbrushed picture on it, that kit should be purple. If there is a pic of the assembled kit on it, they are maroon/red. Russ
