Recently got a 64 Riviara - not sure if it's a promo or just old kit but it was held together with screws. Looking for engine, glass, interior and such. Body and chassis are good. Wheels and such no problem. Thanks

A lot of what you need is in the recent A/E re-issue of the '65 Riviera along with a ton of goodies to work with. These usually can be found cheap too!! Then there would also be the leftover body to do a showrod project. Just an idea.

Hey Lance
Frank is right,
here is pics of the real cars
a 64 riviera
a 65 riviera
if you want to just get the parts, the Modelhaus sells the parts, but considering the prices, it might be cheaper just to buy the whole 65 kit.
see the older AMT kits had screws holding the chassis to the body, they slowly got rid of it, only a few reissues still use it, the Mercury Marauder is one of them.
it's not a promo, the hood would have been molded shut, or the chassis would have a dummy engine in it's place.
some people back in the day would modify promos, pop the hoods open, some of them had hoods that were glued shut, but the majority of them were molded with the hoods shut,
it's an old kit more than likely an actual 60's issue
take care George
