Yee Haw!!! This was a pretty fun project, well mostly....lol. I had all the key parts from an original '64 Monogram Blue Bettle that I've had at least 15 years. So, I decided to do this one using a reissue '29 roadster PU, and an Orange Crate (for the wheels) I know, I could have robbed the rear wheels from a Li'l Coffin to get it even closer, but I like the matching wheels. My main goal on this build was to keep it simple, like the 60's, only paint detail, no wiring, photo etch, etc. Enjoy boys!!!

Thanks alot for all the compliments guys!!! This was a neat build for me, as I have wanted a Blue Beetle in my collection, and I keep getting outbid on eBay...lol. Chuck, I painted this one with Duplicolor "Bright Aqua" over Plastikote light grey primer. I used the grey primer to darken the paint a tad. The pictures make it look more blue, than the greenish blue teal color it realy is. I originaly was going to mix a solid color to match the plastic of the original model, but when I seen this color the choice was simple.

That is a beauty man. I love the white interiors. I think they just set off the kustom paint finishes. You did one hell of a job! Definitely one to add proudly to your collection.

One of my all time best favorite model kits from my youth. I musta built that model 10 different times. I never did it any justice. But this one is what I always wanted mine to look like.
Send the highest quality biggest pictures you can to Dave (uncropped and unfooled around with). That belongs on the Show Rally Mantel.
