Now you dare him to build a 1/16th Revell dragster! Very nice work! Is the "Phantom of the Opera" the old Aurora one? That should be very nice to see when done! (of the old Aurora monster kits, that was among the best).

Hi Ramone--The lettering on the tires is made by a company called SHABO/HOBBYDESIGN P.O. BOX 25 BIG BEND, WI 53103-0025. Basically these are lettering that is on a carrier that when placed on the tire (if the tire has molded lettering-this must be removed with a hobby knife or sanded down) and rubbed over with a blunt instrument/point to transfer to the tire. They are then sealed onto the tire with dull coat clear. Much easier than trying to paint letters........................Fred

Man Fred, with the skills Michael has for building about anything I don't think I'd have any complaints at all. I've built with both nephews and both could be very good but neither have much interest in spending time doing it now. I'm not bummed about it as they are both very creative or productive in their interests. The one is very into playing guitar and is very good and does it every day and has for several years now. The other at 15 is into working with engines of the small sort and has been for a little while. So I'm just happy they are doing something cool. I think both will return to modelling again some day but being that they are both young, it just won't be till later I think. Anyway, Michael is a real talent! I'd say cherish it but I'm sure you do!

I'm about 500 posts behind, but I do want to express that Michael's work is nice and clean. Decals are straight and flat.. good stuff. I'm glad to see an up and coming modeler who pays attention to basic details.
Michael got sick of me raggin' on him about not building cars, so he finished up a twister vega he had started awhile ago. He painted the interior tub tamiya purple, the body is white with kit decals and cleared with tamiya pearl. He added detail master plug wires and coil and added a white round headed pin for a shifter. He also used dry-transfer lettering on the tires. He also picked up a johnny lightning icecream truck model the other day, but he is currently working on a phantom of the opera kit right now................................Fred
