this is my original rattler that i bought new and built when i was 13 or 14 years old. its not perfect, the chrome is worn, there are a few glue marks and the dust is over 30 years old, but it outlived all my other kits that went the way of the firecracker or my dads habit of throwing my stuff away. now it sits safely in a case in my house.

Very cool Don! It's always nice to see someone keep a survivor as is. Looks nice and what a great survivor at that, a rare kit.

Don that is cool it lasted all the trials of building at 13. . ..
I was one for throwing them down the stairs in a fit of rage. . . when I got glue on the body or wind shield. . . with my big brother laughing all the way. . . .
I'm a better builder now. . . and know I can replace the piece or fix it. .. hehehe
It looks great in the shot! ! !

Wow Don that looks great !!!! If I had saved all my hot wheels, tonkas, and models I could have made mucho $$$$ by now on ebay ;D ;D ;D ;D!!!...............But for some twisted reason I introduced all my hot wheels to Mr. Hammer!!!......my models to Mr. Bic lighter!! and the tonka's just plain wore them out and they met Mr Trashcan!!!!!l........................Fred

Thats a sweet little survivor you got there. You dont see a Rattler too often. I´m a little extra happy to see your picture, because its the first time I See a good shot of the interior, and the interior on my Rattler were missing, so I made up something from the parts box. Whoe and behold, it looks allmost similar to the stock interior.... Even the steering wheel I used, is almost identical.

Nice save Don. I wish I had some of my originals. None survived the great purge of 85 a year after I moved out of home and my mum decided that I didn't need my toy "cars" anymore. She tipped the lot with out asking first which included built and kits.
