... unless I keep adding more rigging, which is a good possibility! But I don't want to overdo it either -- but looking at the pictures, a few more lines wouldn't hurt.
Painted Skeleton Jack's shirt again, this time adding a little color to it, and I made a strap with buckle to go around him.
Went to Michael's and picked out some thread with a color that would closely match the body, and which would look like rope as well. With as much fun as I had tying little knots and getting the rigging on (mostly with the help of white glue), I can only imagine what those ship model builders go through ... I don't know if I could do that! (I wish more of those old ships would appear at model shows ... when done right, I think they're absolutely beautiful, some of the best models to look at).
And instead of the glossy paper pirate flag (and the other flags included in the kit) I made my own pirate flag out of some stretchy material my wife had (like a stretchy nylon material, very thin) and Tamiya Flat White paint was used to paint my own skull & bones.
Fun kit!! There's a model show in Fairmont, MN this Saturday but I won't be able to attend (mostly because of work -- we're on mandatory overtime right now), but for sure this will be at the GMO NNL in June here in Minneapolis. Or it might make a club appearance before then!
