Bed Buggy

This thing was in such sad shape that I almost sent it back to the person I got it from on E-bay but realized that they do not come up very ofter. After a little TLC and patience, it turned out ok. It is missing a few things but was mostly complete. The bed cover (lepard skin) is original and just needed cleaning. I am hoping to find the exhaust pipes for it before June. I had to add side lights (on canopy) from I think a Raiders Coach or Munsters Koach. I also had to put the head lights lower but again, from what i started out with, it will work as a display piece at shows

Nearly sounds like the MPC Casper Paddy Wagon I have (also an eBay glue bomb), but its finally taking shape ... enough so that I'm feeling good about it again. From what I can see, both this and the Mail Truck turned out fine!

Yours and Brandon's are the only two intact Bed Buggy builds I have ever seen. Definitely a rarity and oddball kit, and worth every effort of restoration. I'm not a big fan of alot of Barris' crap, this one's kinda' kool tho. I am a BIG Batmobile fan at heart though! I think it's George's greatest triumph.

I may have some exhaust pipes for ya, I'd really have to dig..... I put a V8 in mine.
I'll be gone until Monday, but I'll try to look for them next week.... I seem to remember having like 5 of the six...or something like that.

I posted too soon, I think I might have hacked them up for an early '60s style VW-based rail job..... I'll have to dig. Don't get your hopes up... nothing is safe in my parts stash.....
