Wolfeie: I have found that with harsh mold lines ,seams or whatever the case may be that a nice sand with 320 atumotive paper followed up by a wet sand with 1200 or 2000 wet paper will take care of any flash lines left from factory molds.........works great. As far as seams i'll use a nice light sand with 320 followed by a coat of Automotive primer (a good brand) and the using a light coat of Automotive glazing putty (preferably Marsons) works fantastic.A nice 320 sand to the putty a coat of primer (must let primer dry at least 8 hours for top results).I then wet sand primer with 2000 paper let it dry wipe it down with a tack cloth and paint ,no dust ,no breakage PERFECT.These steps are for using Auto paint. Most of the guys are using Tamiya Bases with clear coat but the procedure would be the same.Testors makes they're own primer and contour putty. The most important step is DRYING time. You have to let these materials set up because they do shrink primer and putty both.At least 2 hours on the putty (depending on application) and at least 8 hours on the primer.Hope this helps.
