God, I'm really sorry I started this....... NOT!!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!! Woooooohooooooo!!!!!!!!! Can you identify what this body is made from? This is earlier on mock-up...The body is done and ready for paint. I won't divulge the name, and you probably won't figure it out until the paint scheme goes on, so we'll keep that part secret!! This is just one part of my theme, which has basically turned diorama. It's a tribute piece...Guess who? ;D

I'm the new guy just finding my way around and trying to input as much as i can just picking up on your talk in here.I wasn't around in the old days should i say but i do think that progress pics would be an uplifting to a new builder. You can't build enthusiasm on silence.Setting an example is something i look forward to with new builders looking in on my work.It makes me proud that i can display progress for the amature and watch him develop by using all of our different techniques to create his own masterpiece.Isn't that what the hobby is all about? Isn't that what the Coffin Corner is all about? A chance that someone can learn from us ,and eventually post with us. Dana

Modelmaster- You are so correct!! I'd like to add --- while others are encouraged to join up/paticipate and the talk about engaging others to become a part of the hobby, we get talk about how much better the Korner was in the old days when it was a few buddies carrying on. New guys and us irregulars don't count. I'm ashamed to see these negative things posted. How can you expect new members to interact freely when they are told from the out set they are valueless. I fully respect the right to an opinion and expressing it. But, think about the effect it might have. I'll probably get burned for having said this but I honestly think it had to be said before such comments escalate.

Ahhh... I don't think anything wil escalate.... This thread was the kick in the pants I needed to get back on track. I won't show finished pics or divulge my names, but I think in-progress shots to see where people are going is FUN.
I made some serious headway last night on both of my builds. I had worked up to a point where I had to let everything dry and think about how to tackle the next set of difficult steps. Last night I mowed those steps down and got to another set of challenges. Now my brain is working on how to make the transition from brain fart to styrene.... I don't really build for these contests, although the motorvation is awesome, but I truly enjoy the fabrication and series of problem solving aspects that each build brings. Sometimes I get smack in the middle of a crazy modification and I wonder why the heck I thought to do THIS, and wonder if it's possible to even pull it off, and then when it's done, I step back and eyeball it and I smile....

WOW! There are some great and imaginative builds there.
Brandon, you are just crazy man. Have you and Dan Barten been hanging around together . Those are some insightfull bashes(plus I could see a peek of your 3rd one in the corner in one photo. I couldn't guess the names though.
BiLL, they will be kool builds to follow. You already have one of the all time great kits to work with in the Boot Hill!
Hale, that is awesome! What can say about a show rod with skulls, Humongous engine, and a character, Brilliant! Iwonder if you got the name I sent
Joe, What can I say but that is just totally CRAZY...& I love it! If I had to guess a name for it maybe... "DRAGGIN AZZ". LOL ;D
Tim, that is totally "classic showrod". I just know it will have a killer paint job......and you scare me when you say "diorama". What are us less resourceful and experienced to do? We don't stand a chance.
I too miss putting up in progress shots as well. My build was really interesting on how I did it and the product I used that I wished I could have shared it.
This was my first contest with you guys after finally getting up the nerve to do it. Being kinda a newbie, I was just following the rules. I didn't want to rock the boat. But since the rules have been broken, I guess we can have some fun. Yeah it was getting a little "slow" around here but, I guess with the weather breaking, LIFE, and if others are like me, I hate starting one project without finishing up on the other and the hold up on what to do because of the original Idea stated by a few,("Wait for the decals to build around") kinda held up several kits to start on not knowing what I would get. But I had to start anyways because , SH!T, time was getting short.
I wish Decal Dan would speak up(for himself again, I know he last stated again a while back he would get them out in a couple of weeks, but my question is : HAS ANYBODY GOTTEN A DECAL YET? (If there is a problem I'm quite sure people here are sympathetic and understanding, and like brandon said we have our names.)
Also for the ones opting out, I sure hope you don't and just put something together, just not to disappoint the person who submitted it. It would be a BUMMER to wait 6 months and then nothin' C'mon build something.
I also hope we stick to the original end dates for the reasons mentioned above, This contest was hatched on January 1st and 7 Months should be been plenty of time. It's time to have fun and move on.
I will post a sneak peak of my build later guys, take care and again great builds, Jerry Glenzinski

Brandon. I'm bashing a Boot Hill & Piranha.. The motor will be inside the Boot Hill and Driver out front. I finally got the Glue bomb Hill apart except for the glass.. It's covered in tape so I wouldn't scratch it up during the tear down fight. I'm going to try removing the glass one more time because the only parts painted were the curtains and tassles and Painted they where.. I might have to cut them out from behind?.
I did cut out the rest of the bed covering on the Trouble Maker last night and started on the new Blast/Fire shield..
But now it's off to do yardwork on my day off... Later. BiLL..

Mad- Don't know if youve tried this but if the glass was put in with regular glue, keep soaking the joint with mineral spirits. Some times carefully running a #11 around the seam speeds things up.

Regarding the earlier comment about 7 months being plenty of time, I haven't even started anything yet because I was requested not to assume much until I see the artwork associated with the decals. So it's not plenty of time.

Dave that's gonna be wild.. You know with that tall shock tower out back I can see a trailer. With those big tires on the trailer too..?

Nope - no trailer. That rear frame kick-up will have something mounted on/around it. Let's just say I tried to take an unexpected (but very literal) direction with my name.
