I wanted in when it started. Opted out after all the "discussion" started getting it sounding confusing. But, I'm here and paying attention. I could still get in before the dead-line.(If it looks like I can finish something.) Don't bank on my not participating.

"OK. Let's see. "OPEN SHOWROD Klassic #1". Run what ya brung, anything goes, BUT it has to be some kind of Showrod or showcar. No entry fee. Enter as many times as you like. You don't have to be a "Pro". WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO BUILD AND ENTER! THIS IS ABOUT HAVING FUN AND BUILDING NEW MODELS!!"

I'm BACK baby, and I'm bringin' the flowered building table to bare! You will RUE the day when you scoffed at my choice of table covers BARTEN!

we're building some stuff for this over on my forum - got one really nice build done so far. I'm doing an Uncertain T inspired thing Linky here: www.automodelling.com/forum.php?id=2&tid=7081And the first entry from our side of the fence, by our friend Bob:

Don't take this wrong! I'm not critiqueing the build or the person who did it. That kit irks me to no end -minimal detail, the wheels and tires are the worst ever in a kit, and the body only "appears" to be the "Undertaker". The poor body is what really turns me off most. The rest can be easily fixed.

I'm in.
Might even finish early. Laid down some sweet orange paint this weekend. It's from Extreme colors.
Then got stupid and touched some parts before they were no longer tacky. You would think that after 30 years, I would have figured it out.
Repeat after me - you can not rule the styrene - you must be one with it.
All is not lost. Another cloat of urethane clear and I am back in to where I started.
Back to work.
Flounder.

Me too! Sign me up for the "Showrod Klassic #1"! It sounds like fun! General Consensus seems to be that the "BigShot" vehicle drawn up by Dawie Coetzee would qualify as being a showrod ... so, for that and other reasons, that's my choice for a Showrod Klassic entry. (I'll get to double up with it, since the model qualifies for the "Sherminator Challenge" on Starship Modeler, as well.)(If I was hanging out here way back when the Name Game challenge was just beginning, I'd have considered that one, too. "Woman Driver" would have been my choice of a name. But oh well! Only so many hours per day / simultaneous projects that can be worked on; so I'm probably better off this way!?)

I'm still not sure what Paul's challenge is..? I thought it was between him & Bob Paeth but I could be wrong. Still, after grinding out a bike, top fuel coupe & " Studly J" all this year I want to do something more fun & relaxing.
Sooo I'm working on a showrod based project that will qualify for this contest. It WILL NOT be an elaborate national contest build but with the host(s) & web page already commited, I'll be a happy camper for this one. Nice job guys, seems like you've already met the challenge..!
The zoot is in the house, see ya on Holloween, Hizoot ;D
