We all know the story of how this little War got started.. I thought the deadline was April 1st? I hurried up this weekend to finish by the 1st so I'll start the war with my "Bomber".. 1940 Ford Coupe. Removed the side rear windows and section of the roof then slid the the rest of the roof up giving it a `40 Willys type roof. with a slight chop and wedged forward. leaving a long rear deck taildragger style. reshaped the windows and made a new door post. shaved the body of everything and dechromed the head and tail lights. The color is Caramel Latte Satin. with White firewall, running boards and interior. And Elderberry satin rims.. I don't know why I used the mural/decal on the rear? I think it was the Miller lites on a all nighter that told me they'd look good because of the purple... Well here's "Bomber" Here it is with Hubcaps.. and here's with the Skirts on.. Hope you guys like her.. I'll get more pictures soon. BiLL.. P.S. I really need a new camera.. UPDATE.. Here's another `40 Ford for the war. First I gave you Bomber. Now I give you Gass.. My panel Gasser! "Alky Hauler" Painted Stonewash Denim which looks Blue on the cap. and Satin White. Front and rear Gasser set up from a `37 Chevy kit. Add a Keg, Barrel and whiskey jug in the back and Beer stien shifter and you got an Alky Hauler.. BiLL..

If I am not responsible for this "40 Ford" war, I was at least at the front of the line. The dead line was indeed the 1st of April, and I know many of us were participating. It has been suggested that a round of eliminations be held with various votes between two competitors with the winner going on to defeat another winner. My only regret about this challenge was the fact of missing out on it. I had my entry about half-way finished, body work done, when this lung problem of mine just got in the way. I still want an open challenge with Paul but it will just have to wait for a coupla months yet.
Paul, I hope the other builders who issued personal challenges start to come through and send you their entries. I still think that this was an exciting and original way to run a contest.

Myself and Joe D are playing the game too - we set a personal challenge with a deadline of April 14th, so we wont be too long. Whether mine's done by then is a different matter, but even if it's just in primer, it'll be ready to display one way or another...

Ah yeah, I forgot we had a third! Sorry bro - got so focused on 'beating' Joe (especially as he's so much of a better builder than me) that I forgot. What you got going on anyway bud? Giving us a sneaky peeky at all?

Giving us a sneaky peeky at all? Guys...How soon we forget.. With the war started Flame offered a challenge to all and Joe D took the task. While I didn't know but posted to take the task also but too late. Joe being the trouble maker LOL challenged me to join. Now a 3 way war. Pegleg wanted in and flame said why not..So we have a 4 way war...? Then I Double dog dared Fred to a challenge in the war too. So I have another `40 about done for him.. Lets not forget this is about Bob P. and Paul C. waring it out first. Bob's Great idea of a bracket war never grew legs but is a Great idea for future build offs.. Anyway...I hope more guys have `40's built to join..soon.. BiLL..

I really don't think it is too late to have a bracket=war. The problem may be that if it is up to Paul to set it up, we may have a little wait. How about it Paul ? If we do go the bracket idea can someone set it up for us ? Huh ? Huh ? Huh ?

Not to mention I'm sitting on a full set of Autometer gauges, new Holley hi rise and new headlights for Traci. I've been 'warned' about models, corvette and ebay stuff till I have a new address. So, if there's a competition ladder ... well, I'm either "Broke" , red light (-.999) at the line or DNQ. I've already had to gently remove the house from my realtors a$$. (Carol told her to stick it up there twice already) - Irish temper ya know. So, I'll be a PW'd House POW for most of this year I see.
