I thought I might add this here so it doesn't get buried from the original post: New Kit Swap & Build.
Rules. 1. Members shall contact Me (Alan Alexis) to enter the lists.
2. All entrants shall have their names on the master list.
3. Entry for the Swab'n'Build will be Open from Aug 1, 2008 to Aug 30, 2008. On Sept 01, 2008 each member will mail his kit to the person he is swapping with. After recieving his kit, building time will commence.
4. The build time will be from Sept 2008 to May 2009.
5. May 26 2009, will be the Final Deadline for entries.
6. All completed build Photos must be uploaded to the Contest Page , by May 26, 2009.
7. I will get a Home Page for the Photos to displayed at.
8. Judging will be by Secret ballot, by the form of emails, sent to me, from May 27,2009 thru June 1, 2009.
9. Winners will be announced on June 2. 2009.
10. Winner will get Bragging Rights, and any prizes I can get donated.
Subset Rules for the Swap 'n' Build. A. Kits to be swapped must be New, Sealed, or New, Open Box, but Sealed inside.
B. No Old, Opened kits, as there is just too much trouble with missing parts.
C. Kits to be swapped can be Showrods, or Drag Cars, as both seem to be about equally popular around here.
D. The Kit you get, is the Kit you build.
E. Kit can be built any style, any way. Kit bashing with other kits is strongly encouraged.
This Contest is mostly a repeat in style and form, of our last contest. I suggest what I do, because the last time seemed to work well. This Contest is intended to push the envelope for most of us, just a little. The usual Rallye themes, will be in evidence, I hope.
Maybe this could be stickied to the top of the contest page..(as well as the Cobweb Classic rules until they are over(Paul, Brandon?)

I received a message from Neil and my project(s) are on their way ... Neil is in Canada and after a run-in with an online ebay model supplier, he changed gears and called "Mark Twain Hobby" in St. Louis Mo. which is 1 1/2 hours south of me. Wow! ! Then, Neil couldn't decide which to send so he's sending one of each... holy cow!!!! Does Neil know how party or what!! 8-)wooohooo!!!! ;D Starry Eyes

Soooo, howz it goin'?? Any bashtastic ideas - or are you keepin' things hushed for now? Well Neil .. as I stated before in another area of tour forum, I'm not a seasoned bashmaster ... lol.. I'm eyeballing the gasser project really hard at this point... I've got a few unexpected real life issues (won't bore everyone with details) going on but I'm making every effort to complete both the Cobweb and Swap n Build ..

Sounds great guys! I'm really looking forward to some pics. As for me ...I have this crazy notion to push kustom kar modelin' just a few steps forward - perhaps too far, lol! And, I also want to fabricate 99% of the build to have it carry a completely modern feel. Here's a glimps of what I'm planning to do, this was my first concept windshield sketch done awhile ago... ...I have revised it a few times but the theme remains the same. The black/grey outlined areas represent 'roof' surfaces and the blue outlined areas represent the blue transparent acrylic windshield, which will come/hang down just in behind a honkn' huge engine ;D n.

Hey thanks for your comments!
I'll post a finished sketch in a bit.
Basically the body shapes will be all graffiti - what I intend to do is build graffiti letter shapes and use graff iconic symbols too (such as arrows and stuff) all in 3D flowing sculptural form for the body components. I'm also hoping that I can use different materials too - such as black latex and chrome for the 3D sculptural graffiti body components.
Very modern stuff - I might be pushing things a wee bit too far, lol! This 'project' could get waaaayyyyyyy out of hand. I think I'm already past recovery, lol!!!

I've looked both kits over pretty heavy that you sent me for the S&B ... Right now I'm leaning towards the TD kit with a few modifications in mind .. Nothing drastic as I dont' have other TD kits or parts in my parts box.. I'm trying to be as creative as my little pea brain will allow .. Starry
