Dear fellow Klowns,
I, the Kustom Kemps of America, and the KC Slammers Model Car Club are proud to announce the USA's only officially KKOA-endorsed 4th Annual Elden Titus Model Kemp Spectacular to be held at the 29th Annual KKOA Leadsled Spectacular in Salina, KS, on Saturday, July 25, 2009.
The details can be found at kcslammers.com/index_files/Page781.htm on the KC Slammers' Website.
Note the name change! As a tribute to Elden, we have added his name on the contest title. The Model Kemp Spectacular was his personal brain-child and baby and the KKOA wholeheartedly supported its creation and continued existence. Unless Hell freezes over, the Model Kemp will go on as long as there's a KKOA (and that organization is in its 29th year and is going stronger than ever)! KKOA President Jerry Titus believes just as strongly in model-building and creating beautiful Kustoms and Rods as his brother and our friend, Elden, did.
In addition, be sure to scroll down the page and check out the NEW Elden Titus Creative Concept Design Award. The description reads... In the spirit of the way Elden used scale-models to plan and execute his full-size custom designs, this award will be presented to a scale-model Kustom vehicle that exhibits originality, radical thinking, innovative design, and quality craftsmanship. The winning model should go far beyond merely chopping, channeling, and the other traditional means of customizing. In addition, the model should have the unique ability to conceivably be translated into a full-size "one-off" kustom vehicle. The modeler may present along with the model - sketches, schematics, and specifications to demonstrate and explain the creative process.
Elden used models to create the Voodoo Spyder, the Vampyre, and the Vibrasonic. Let's make him proud and create some outstanding Model Kustoms in the same spirit!
The building classes are the same as last year! The entry form is also on the website on another page. I THINK you can get it to print out. If you can't, let me know (PM or email) and I'll mail you a copy to use as you wish or to duplicate. Do the $40 show special NOW and start your year-long subscription to the KKOA's great Trendsetter Magazine to enjoy until July
Like Elden always said... KUSTOMS ARE FORVER! So, hit that model bench and start crankin' out some great models to bring to Kansas next Summer! While you're on the Slammers' website check out the KKOA Leadsled FOTKI Album Link. Here it is as well... public.fotki.com/kcslammers/kkoa-leadsled-and-m-1/
