Hello folks! I'm Art Loveland in Kokomo Indiana. Used to be active here a few years ago and back at it and starting to build again. Used to own a resin casting site called Funnysmoke 1/16 resins and decals. The old site is still up but closed. Check it out.... funnysmoke-dragracing-resins.jesusanswers.com/ I'm wanting to cast the Dragon Wagon parts and will make them available to anyone here at a reasonable price. I'm not in biz anymore and this project will be just a side more as a service to us show rod modelers than anything. All I would probably ask is enough out of the cast parts to subsidize the worth of casting the stuff and maybe a little extra for my time.. I'd probably need most of the parts to convert the hangman or I guess I could cast the whole thing as needed. I'd return all parts within 2 months to their donor(s). And provide a limited no of cast D W parts as a thank you. Feel free to call me at 1-765-236-1129 to talk about this worth while venture or just to gab about the hobby. Like the rest of us I'm sick of waiting on a kit release. Let's just do it and get it over with. Art Loveland aka Bozobutt moderator edit: Welcome Art, nice web site for 1/16th funny car stuff for sale. Others: ensure your pop up blocker is enabled before clicking the above link.

I build a bunch in 1/16. Do you still have any of your 1/16 stuff left over?? If someone casts the dragon, I would be interested in getting a copy of that! Thanks. Jody

Jimmy Flintstone now casts a detail reduced version of my my 'cuda F/C body and a rascal named Greg Fox in Wisconsin had the molds for the rest of the F/C's redone with my permission. I no longer have Greg's addey. Comp Resins has dedone the Mustang and created a new mold. I still have the Mustang mold and all the original 1/16 bucks, but I no longer cast.
Thanks for the interest but health issues caused me to close.

One of the members here had wrote to Revell about the '09 announcements, and their reply had the Dragon Wagon listed as a reissue!!! One of my horror stories about the Dragon Wagon, was a friend gave me a complete built-up DW many years ago, and I had packed that thing around in a box for years (back then I thought it was a stupid kit....lol) I remember taking the rear end out of it for a project, and a couple years ago I was interested in restoring it, but to my dismay, I had thrown it away..... It would be great to see this one again.

I have a few parts that you might be able to use. They are not mint but they should do. You need to make it worth my while though.

Dave and Dean please both of you give me a call. We'll disuss whats best and could make everyone happy. The way I see it , even if Revell repops it, in three years folks will be needing more and why sacrifice a new kit for resin molds. As long as the parts are in decent shape there shouldn't be any problem casting the whole kit in 6 or 7 sets of 2 part blanket molds. I should be able to get about 300 pops out of parts that are not severely undercut. Round one I will not get anal about perfection but I won't cast junk either.

I continue to be amazed that hardly no one casts the rare stuff in the show rod genre. Granted theres a bunch of us kitbashing, and the occasional re-release, but there just isn't enough resin out there to keep folks happy. I don't expect everyone to cast stuff, but it's just not that hard. More guys into show rods should try it. Keeps the hobby moving along at a better pace. It's like money in the bank.....gives folks something to draw out of.

Jody the Mustang mold is still in great shape and is made of a very expensive rtv that is medium hard in deirometre, but as far as I know Gregs molds are set up with less undercuts and are 2 part. Mine were slush cast. I don't know if Greg even does this anymore...Tell him Art said hi. By the way I started 1/16 DrAgGin' modelers group. Got out of 1/16 casting and running the site about 5 years ago. Couldn't keep up with it. There was some hard feelings. Alot of it was my fault. In retrospect however it was great fun. And some heartache. Met alot of nice folks.

He was in it, but was using sloppy rubber that deteriated on him. I think he has started sending stuff elsewhere as i know he had a wrinkle wall tire, now someone else on the site has it. Also like you said, comp resins has the stang body now as well

How about you build one out of all those parts and make it worth OUR WHILE! Thats on my 2009 to do list. I got almost all of the parts for 2 of them in parts lots. The last one I got was complete but it was put together with elmers glue, and the buy it now was so cheap that I couldnt pass it up.

I spoke with Tom Daniel Sunday and the DW is being reissued in 09. Thanks for the responses guys but I decided to wait a while on casting this one. May cast it in a couple years.
Thanks again....Art
